Agriculture Changes

 Objectives: 

1.2    Add the words “including closure procedures” at end of sentence. 

1.4    (New Objective) Encourage Township and County Governments to develop monitoring programs to maintain Basin water quality standards. 

2.2    Add the words “Take into consideration any new programs or changes to existing programs when new federal farm plan is developed” at the end of sentence. 

2.8    (New Objective) Encourage State Government to provide additional funding for the existing State Water Bank program to allow additional acres in the Devils Lake Basin to be enrolled.” 

Specific Actions To Be Accomplished: 

3.     Replace with “Encourage Basin wide water quality monitoring programs or in specific areas to ensure water quality standards are maintained through out the entire Devils Lake Basin.” 

 

Economic Development Changes

Objectives:

1.3    Add: Securing studies completed by all entities from other areas and surrounding states, and support efforts to obtain staff sufficient to keep Sullys Hill Game Preserve open to the public longer on an annual basis, beyond the current schedule of six months annually. 

1.5    Reference that the groundwork on the Pilot Project has begun. 

1.6    Replace Lost Prairie Lodge with “lodges, campgrounds, and resorts.” 

1.11  (New Objective) Encourage the development of renewable in all forms (wind, biodiesel, ethanol, biomass.)  Also assist in the development of a market for the byproducts of these processes. 

2.2    Additions: Renaissance Zone and USDA Champion Communities

         Corrections: Three regional councils. 

2.3    Replace “Basin economic development organizations” with “Basin economic development county representatives.  

Specific Actions To Be Accomplished: 

2.      Modify the same as 2.3 above.

Accomplishments: 

1.      There are now 150,000 acres of free hunting space available. 

2.      Change numbers to 3,628 hours and 653 businesses. 


Recreation Changes 

Objectives:

2.19  Add known locations of ANS interbasin water transfer potential: Billings Lake, Rock Lake, McHugh Slough, and Black Slough.  Support Game & Fish’s new rules and regulations passes by legislature on ANS transfer. 

2.20  Revisit the rest area issue concerning waterfowl. 

Accomplishments: 

1.      Lake Access Committee - Beach Development at Lakewood Recreation Area 

2.      Hettinger Boat Ramp 

3.      Fish Station at 6-Mile Bay 

4.      General Maintenance (Dock work in several locations)
